Joe Crede’s latest clutch hit gave Joba Chamberlain his first major league loss. Crede’s RBI single to center in the bottom of the ninth Thursday night gave the Chicago White Sox a 7-6 victory over the New York Yankees and their young reliever.

Chipper Jones’ season is going so well he fulfilled both of his birthday wishes. Jones celebrated his 36th birthday with a home run and a perfect 3-for-3 night at the plate to lead Atlanta past the NL East-leading Florida Marlins 7-4 on Thursday.
